Dates, news and TV shows
around the topic of genealogy

The generation change and the continuing digitization have led to a growing interest in one's own roots for several years now - across generations, emotionally and long since detached from the once dusty image.

This new trend towards family and genealogy captures people of all ages.
Know your ancestry and enrich your life.

Special research and recordings for
Norwegian television documentary

"
Ukjent Arving" - "Unknown Heir"

I was allowed to carry out a very special research for the successful documentary series

"Ukjent Arving" ("Unknown Heir") of the Norwegian television NRK TV

Now it was time for filming in Kirchberg in Saxony together with the TV crew.

In the run-up, I was allowed to take over the search for heirs of a German father.

And what do you think, was I successful?

For three years, the Norwegians had already been searching for a heir of a man,

who died in eastern Norway in 2012.

There were many ups and downs along the way.

The father was unknown until the summer of 2021, and he carries an incredible story,

which is now unravelled in the TV documentary.

After it turned out that the father of the deceased was German, my search for possible close heirs began far away from eastern Norway and the production team was also allowed to test their language skills.

If you already want to know how the story continued, you are welcome to read on here.

German television stations are also happy to take up this theme again, in autumn 2018 ZDF broadcast

The second season followed one year later in autumn 2019.

The series "Who do you think you are?" is an absolute hit in England, USA and Australia for about 10 years. The searches for these series are always carried out by qualified, local researchers.
